We have a book that we read where the Dad does some crazy things like standing on his bike. When we read it Alasdair copies the Dad and goes and stands on his bike. Anyway, the Alasdair adventure continues..

OpenSolaris Storage Summit

Even though I no longer work at Sun I’ve come to San Francisco to watch and participate in the OpenSolaris Storage Summit 200902.

Open Storage is a tremendous opportunity for OpenSolaris. I can say this even though I don’t work at Sun any more There is an amazing collection of technologies that make it up.

As the day goes on I’ll add some updates as I learn cool new stuff. You can check it out live, or just look at the videos that are uploaded after the event.

Nvidia CUDA

I’ve had a few questions on what I’m doing now. I just started working at Nvidia. I’m managing a team of folks developing CUDA. It is a really cool framework for doing general purpose computation on a GPU.
